15mm pearl

I found a pearl it looks like a akoya or a south sea pearl a part of the nacre looks great. This part was where the muscle of the mossulsc was still stuck to it however the rest had bit roughed up a bit in the sea. I now need it peeling but can't find anywhere. PLEASE HELP

Hello Stewart,

Thanks for your story. In the photo it looks like at least one side is nice. Maybe you could have it mounted with that side showing and there would be no need to have the other side peeled?

I think "pearl peeling" is pretty much a lost art but if you check with some local jewelers they might be able to direct you to someone who could do it if you still feel it is necessary.

If you're from the UK, I'm sure you could find help there.
