I found a purple clam pearl

While having dinner at the horse track last Friday night I found a pearl in one of my steamed littleneck clams. What a surprise! The waitress and the folks at adjoining tables just had to look. The waitress even took it to the chef, as per his request to see it.

I had it weighed in at .9 ct at a gem show today, but no one there really had any idea as to value.
What do you think of my little gem? I think it would be clef a button pearl, as it's flat on the bottom.
