This true story happened many years ago when I was selling cultured pearls.

Now I only sell natural pearls and natural pearl jewelry.

I consider this a children's story but hopefully some of you will also enjoy it.

So, what does a cow have to do with pearl baby bracelets?

My parents were going to name me Polly, until their friends introduced them to their new cow named Polly.

They decided they didn't want their friends to think they named their new baby after a cow, so they named me Kari instead.

And that's how my business got its name.
