Abalone pearl gift from a father

In 1976 or 77 I was abalone diving with my Dad near Sheep Ranch, Northern CA. Went back to camp, I watched my Dad clean the abalone's as I usually did, and low and behold, discovered this one and only abalone pearl. To my surprise my father had it made into a necklace for me. My dad has now passed, so its a precious reminder of those grand days hanging with my Dad simply watching him clean those abalones. Precious memories!

I can't imagine how exciting it would be to share an experience like that with my Dad but to have him make such a special gift for you; that's incredibly moving. It must have meant a great deal to him as well. Congratulations!!
