Atlantis the Palm Hotel Dubai
Atlantis the Palm Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai
Atlantis the Palm Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai opened September, 2008 with fantastic firework display, possibly the largest the world has ever witnessed.
As you can see by the photos....this place is amazing! I recently attended a conference here. I arrived early just to investigate and take photos. The overall theme of Atlantis and the shells and under water world is evident everywhere from the light fixtures to the floor patterns.

Driving on the palm is an experience in itself with the multiple condominiums...rows and rows and rows of them on the palm branches, each as neat as a pin.

Before I arrived in Dubai, I had no idea how vast this place is. I somehow imagined it to be quite quaint and things within walking distance. I was wrong. Be prepared to use lots of taxis, but the fare is reasonable, fortunately, as my hotel was not near the conference area at the Atlantis Palm Jumeirah Hotel.

The last day of my pearl conference my taxi driver was new and did not know the way here...I was no help. He finally found the right place, only to make several wrong turns and even miss the entrance once we arrived....Oh, well, it gave me a chance to view the exterior as I asked him to just drop me off and I'd walk back.
It also gave me a chance to see the ocean from the edge of the circle that surrounds the "Palm".

To get out to this Jumeirah hotel there is an underwater tunnel. Quite the engineering feats were accomplished to bring this whole place into existence. Even the land was man made created. Amazing.
