awesome pearl

I live in erie pa...me and my 8year old son go rock hunting and shell hunting all the time...alot of the time i just throw them in the bucket to check out later..well the other day we were cleaning some rocks and shells when what i thought was a shiny marble turned out to look more awesome than i had thought..it is super shiny and colorful from green to blue to gold and silver with overtones of pink..it has little black holes on it and feels super gritty when rubbed on teeth..it is 16mm and almost round..any info would be a great help

Hi Stephen, Well, it does look like it could be a pearl. And, if so, yes, a pretty awesome one at that. I suggest showing it to some local jewelers and get their opinion. If in doubt, you could send it to GIA for confirmation. At any rate, it's lovely! What is the size?
