Necklace of button pearl that has been "Earth Kissed" or kissed by the earth after the buttons have been buried for a number of years giving them a lovely rusty coloring.

I recently found some pearl buttons made here in Muscatine, Iowa that had been buried for a long time. The minerals in the soil have gently rusted the buttons giving them a unique appearance, unlike normal pearl buttons.

One day, wanting to relax from computer/website stuff I thought of the brass wire I had in my supplies and decided to make some necklaces out of these "Earth Kissed" pearl buttons.

The result was a refreshing splash of muted colors and brass made into a young looking necklace.

My black pearls arrived yesterday. Mondays are long for me, so I didn't get them until I arrived home at 10:00 PM. You said satisfaction guaranteed. I must admit I'm not satisfied. That's far too tame a word. I'm thrilled. The pearls are stunning. When I opened the silky bag and poured them into my hand, I think my heart actually skipped. I'm sure I gasped.
