Darwin Treasure

by Marie
(Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia)

I'm in the Australian Navy and posted to the Northern Territory. I was enjoying some oysters with my mate a few nights ago and I bit down on a pearl! It doesn't look like any of the pearls I have seen on this sight, it is not much bigger than a match head however it is perfectly round and pure white. I didn't think it was a real 'pearl' pearl as I'd never heard of them being found in oysters!

Luckily I prefer my oysters natural because the other half dozen were put into the grill for Kilpatrick! Phew!

I wish I could add a photo but I am on a defence computer that doesn't allow me to do so.

Wow Marie!

Now we really need a photo! Not only of the ring, but of the couple!

That's what we need more of....pearls bringing people together!

Hey, don't wait for a fancy wedding photo...we'd love to see you both right now.

You can send a photo to my email: karipearlsgmailcom

Or you can fill out another form like you did the first time and I can add the photo to your first post.

Thanks for the good news. I think it's super exciting.

A Good Omen
by: Marie

Good News!
Had to share!
The mate who bought the oysters i found the pearl in has since become my boyfriend and we're having my pearl made into a ring for me. AWWWWWW!!!!
Maybe it's a sign for good things to come :-)
The pearl has been valued at a few hundred dollars but we don't care. It's priceless now!

Oh and I'm glad you enjoyed boogie boarding Kari, it's a mad rush when you catch a good one hey! Too many croc's up here in Darwin to put your big toe in the ocean sadly so i miss it heaps!

Cheers!
Marie

Happy Day!
by: Kari

Hi Marie,

Happy day to find a pearl! And, yes, I'm sure it looked very different from the usual Australian pearls you see.

It will be a neat keepsake for you.

If you ever get a chance to upload a photo, we'd love to see it.

I really enjoyed my time in Australia and finally discovered "my sport"...boogie boarding on the Gold Coast!

Thanks for sharing.
