White Quahog Pearl

White Quahog Pearl

So my grandpa was out hunting with his buddies one day and had some littleneck clams together. When he was eating one he felt the pearl in his mouth and ended up keeping it for over 40 years, ultimately passing it down to me before he passed 10 years ago. I just remembered about this pearl he gave to me a couple weeks ago and have been researching quahogs since. We live in New York so all the clams our stores have are littlenecks and cherrystones this makes me certain it is a natural white quahog pearl! Dimensions: 5mm x 6.5mm Weight: 1.125 ct. on the dot.

Richard,

Thanks for sharing about your grandfather's find.

I think it's super that it has been kept track of for so many years! Even so many years ago, your grandfather realized how special quahog pearl is. Lucky you to have inherited it!

Since it's so special I'm quite sure you want to keep it and enjoy it as a reminder of your grandfather's generosity, however, if you ever decide to sell it, I offer a free listing service on my website.

God bless,
Kari
