Yes, indeed, crabs do make pearls! I was on a cruise recently, had had an especially bad day (yes, even on a cruise bad days can happen!). Suffice it to say, Mr. Guest Relations was having a bad day, due to MY bad day and finally he offered to serve our dinner table the seafood dinner to calm our collective psyches. We began to enjoy our seafood, including delicious crab legs when I found a small pebbly white "pearl" in my mouth. "Oh, great! I just lost a tooth" said a disgusted I. Not so fast! No tooth missing, the little stone was the pearl from the crab leg I was enjoying. And that's my story. And I'm sticking to it. Carol Forbes,
