On a recent trip to Hungary, I visited the wonderful Caprice jewelry museum.

Hungarian Pearls Photo by Kari Once located in the artsy city of Szentendre, it is now located in Downtown of Budapest, at Dorottya Diamond Palace.

Included here are several photos of the jewelry that contained pearls. Solid gold jewelry was predominant at other museums in Budapest, but naturally, I was seeking jewelry decorated with pearls.

And, third, I could take photos! Now that will win my heart any day. At other museums in Budapest it is customary to charge for the privilege of taking photos and it's not only a token charge either.

I also found it annoying in other museums to constantly be asked to show my "photo ticket".

But....I was able to take photos inside the Budapest parliament building which houses the famous Hungarian crown of St. Stephen from the 11th century.

The Caprice Jewelry museum in Szentendre explains the Hungarian jewelry industry in a creative way through a video presentation and also with mannequins to portray St. Stephen (first king of Hungary), monks, workers etc.
