The pearl I found was about the size of a Bb. It was very exciting to find. I plan to keep it in a little cute box for now and use it as my lucky charm. Maybe one day in the future I will have a pinky ring made with it for my daughter. It will always be a memory for me.

Hi Monica,

Happy day to find a pearl! I'm glad you have an appreciation for it and plan on making a ring out of it.

Every time you look at it, it will remind you of how blessed you are!

I found a pearl in my oyster!!
by: Monica

I love love love chargrilled oysters from Acme Oyster House in New Orleans. My friends and family came down last year during Mardi Gras and of course we went to Acme Oyster house in Metairie. I bit down into one of my oysters and bit into a 6mm pearl! I took it to a jewelry store here in New Orleans and I was told that it's called a "button" pearl. I'm so excited to get a piece of jewelry made out of it. If it's able to get mounted without getting destroyed I'm getting a white gold ring made out of it. I feel so lucky!

Lucky you!
by: Kari

Hi Jennie,

Lucky you to find a pearl. I found one about that size several years ago and I hope you do a better job at keeping track of yours than I did mine. I can't find mine and thought I had it safely tucked away in a jewelry box. A ring is a super idea. I love it when folks make a special piece from the pearls they find. Send a photo if you ever get it made up and enjoy it in the meantime. Thanks for telling us about your neat find!
