by: Anna

Hi Amy,

I am thinking of making a couple of diy decor pieces and your pearls look just perfect, would you be open to selling them in bulk? I'm in Toronto.
Thank you :)

I know someone who could drill them
by: Kari

Hi Amy, I know someone who could drill them, but have no idea of what it would cost. I've seen tiny pearls like that drilled with an old fashioned hand drill near the Persian Gulf. First they press the pearl into coconut wood and drill. You can see my step by step photo here. I think it must be very hard on the eyes.

Anyway, your pearls are fun just being in a big group like they are.

the sizes of the pearls range from, less then 1 mm up to 5 mm. most of them being less than 1 mm to 3 mm. I'm not sure on how to even drill them to make anything with them. I have talk to a couple jewelers but no one is interested in them or could tell me if they could be drilled.

Great fun
by: Kari

That's amazing, Amy, great fun too. Sounds like you have a system down to search for them. What is the size range? Have you ever thought of making them into a multi-stand necklace?

I've been collecting my pearls for about 3 years, from: blue mussels. there's an abundance of them, I only take 12 muccels at a time. and we'll find about 30 to 50 pearls. not sure what to do with the pearls I just love collecting them. I've even got one in the shape of a J.

Wow
by: Kari

Wow, Amy, your pearls are gorgeous! An amazing collection. How many years did it take you to gather all those? Are they from the blue mussel? So beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Would enjoy hearing more details of your findings.
