Our black pearl

We went to the local butcher here and picked up a dozen clams. My husband was eating them when he bit into something hard. He spit it out, looked at it, and threw it away! He tells me a few minutes later that he thinks he found a pearl. LUCKILY I dug through the trashcan to find it! It's so exciting to find out first pearl!

Hello Sara, Oh, my, what was he thinking? Yes, luckily you were able to rescue it! That's a lovely pearl. My guess it's maybe a deep, deep purple, which is common for quahog pearls. But it probably looks black.

What a beauty!

I love hearing about these finds. Thanks for sharing. If you have something made out of it, I'd like to see it.
