You may have some beautiful baubles and brooches in your own jewelry stash. Pull them out and assess whether you wear them or if they might be converted into new accessories.

You can mix and match brooches on shoes if you are daring, but two of the same items creates symmetry. You can mix brooches more easily if you stick to one color or type of jewel. For example, two similar pearl brooches will blend well and create interest.

Earrings always work on shoes because they are in pairs, but for this project, I love to find inexpensive brooches that are reproductions of vintage favorites. If you are buying new, look for a brooch you love and buy two for the pair of shoes you plan to adorn.
