Pearl Found in Oyster Po'Boy

Yesterday we were having lunch at a local cajun restaurant and my wife bit into something hard in her fried oyster sandwich. Not sure if it is worth anything, but it seems to be in good shape, almost perfectly round. I'm not even sure how to classify it. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi Garrett,

Congratulations on finding a natural pearl! All natural pearls are rare with some being more valuable than others. Most pearls from edible oysters do not have great value, but all natural pearls can hold sentimental & keepsake value. Luster is the most important pearl characteristic. Also size, shape, color and surface condition play roles in establishing value.

What will you do with your natural oyster pearl? If you have it put in a ring or pendant we'd love to see a photo!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful find!
