While out with my wife at a local Italian restaurant on 03/10/2012, I was eating and order of linguine with white clam sauce as my dish. I decided I could not finish all of the meal and took the leftovers home. When I reheated the leftovers the next day and sat down to eat, I had just about finished and bit down on what felt like a boulder in my mouth. Thankfully I did not break a tooth and initially I could not find what I bit down on. Upon searching further I located what looked like a little clam pouch and inside was this pearl. I remembered reading an article a few years ago about rare purple pearls found in clams and thankfully didn't just throw it away. Kari, can you or anyone on here tell me what this one may be worth and if there are any interested buyers? We may be interested in selling it. I had it measured and it is approximately 5.25mm and has a flat side that would be perfect for a ring or a pendant on a necklace. It also has a darker purple color near the bottom which transitions to lighter color at the top. Looks very cool! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
