The Stunning Pearl Necklace Belonging to a Swedish Queen








A stunning 19th century pearl and diamond necklace handed down by generations of the Swedish royal family was offered in Sotheby’s sale Magnificent Jewels: Part I (Hong Kong | 12 October 2021). In this latest Expert Voices, Sotheby’s specialist Uni Kim tells us how the necklace was originally gifted by Empress Josephine Bonaparte. Discover how the necklace has featured in a number of Royal portraits, including one of Queen Josephine of Sweden which accompanies this exquisite jewel.
